Geoff Taylor
Owner

Geoff Taylor Motorcycles began in 1971, when the 1964 Australian and then current Victorian Scrambles Champion, Geoff Taylor decided to spread his wings and purchased Alloy and Air-cooled Motor Company with his wife Pam, from proprietor Stan Jones. Geoff was a factory backed Yamaha rider at the time, so naturally he wanted to sell Yamaha motorcycles. Yamaha agreed, and thus began his long-standing association as a Yamaha Dealer.

Geoff then purchased the local Honda dealership in 1981, so forming Dandenong Honda. The two separate shops ran side by side until 1986, when it was decided that more efficiency was needed and the two businesses were combined.

Geoff continued his successful Scrambles career whilst running the new business until 1974, when long time friend Barry Fraser convinced him that he needed a change. That spawned one of the most successful partnerships in Australian motor sport history.

Geoff and Barry accumulated no less than 11 Australian Road racing Sidecar Championships, and 11 Australian Grand Prix victories in both the Junior and Unlimited classes at Bathurst, from 1976 to 1983. No mean feat in any language. Then, in 1983, at the peak of their racing career and as reigning Australian Champions, the pair decided to spend more time with their families so they hung up their leathers for good.

To this day, Geoff still enjoys running his business and selling bikes. After all this time it still brings a smile to his face each time a customer takes the keys to their new bike, because Geoff knows the happiness this bike will bring.
